Under section 19 of the Health Professions Act, the Board creates and amends the COBC Bylaws. COBC Bylaws include rules for: governance and administration of the COBC; registration and certification of opticians; complaints, and discipline. The Bylaws also contain a Schedule of Fees.

Notice of Bylaw Amendments
A Notice of Bylaw amendments is distributed to BC health profession regulatory colleges and posted on the COBC website to ensure that the public and other interested stakeholders may view all proposed amendments in a timely and transparent manner and provide feedback. In consultation with the Ministry of Health, the Board must approve all Bylaw amendments.
On August 2, 2022, the Board of the College of Opticians of British Columbia approved amendments to the COBC Bylaws. Read the proposed Bylaw amendments here.
As required under the Health Professions Act, the proposed amendments will be posted on the COBC website for 90 days. Any comments or feedback on the proposed amendments should be sent to the COBC and the Ministry of Health, no later than November 8, 2022, to the attention of:
