Nomination to the College Board of Directors – District 1 Lower Mainland

The College is looking for leaders to be nominated from the Lower Mainland to the Board to help regulate the profession. The College is responsible for setting and enforcing the standards of opticianry. As a self-regulating profession, the Board of the College has the important duty of overseeing the College’s regulatory activities and is accountable for how the College operates.
Professional regulation is evolving so the College is seeking new board members who are innovative, willing to adapt in an ever-changing environment and deeply care about public safety. Successful board members have knowledge and skills in areas like leadership, strategy, stakeholder relations, decision-making, finance, and of-course professional regulation. In addition, it is important that board members are professional, performance-oriented and are aware of self and others.
By nominating yourself or your fellow optician for election, you have the opportunity to make a difference by participating in the regulation of opticianry and ensuring opticians provide safe, quality vision care for all.
